Our Team
Randy Schnarr
Chair of Church Council
Randy was born and raised in Kitchener-Waterloo, the second of five children in a family rooted in the Lutheran tradition. He pursued his post-secondary education at the Ontario College of Art, graduating with a degree in Industrial Design. His professional career spanned several decades, primarily in marketing and sales with major American corporations.
In 1970, Randy married Jessie. Together, they have raised two children, Kara and Matthew, and are proud grandparents to two granddaughters, Vivi and Pippa.
After spending 45 years vacationing in Southampton, Randy and Jessie chose to make it their full-time home in retirement. Deeply committed to community involvement, Randy volunteers with the Bruce County Museum, serves on the executive of the Men’s Probus Club, and helps lead tours to Chantry Island as part of the Propeller Club. He also serves as secretary for a national model railway association and sits on his church council.
Randy’s personal passions include family time, preparing model train sets for children—over 100 completed—managing a pair of small business ventures, and enjoying a weekly poker night with friends.

Pastor Darlyne "Dar" Rath
Our Pastor
Dar and her husband, Merle, first moved from Burlington to Southampton approximately 17 years ago and attended Faith Lutheran Church. Dar then went back to university to become a minister and returned to Faith to do a couple of worship courses. She was ordained in Waterloo and then installed at St. James in Williamsford, where she was for 7 years. During these 7 years, Dar also took on the position of interim pastor at Faith Lutheran Church for about 6 months in 2018.
Pastor Dar is bringing with her a wealth of experience and community care. “I’ve been back and forth and in and out and around here quite a bit doing ministry,” said Rath, “and it’s a real honour to now be here as the church Pastor.” In the community, Pastor Dar Rath also provides ministerial services at the Southampton Hospital as part of the Grey Bruce Spiritual Care Council.
